Taking the Leap!
After years of traveling the world and writing about the business of selling travel, I’ve decided to start selling travel myself!

I sell a lot of different kinds of travel, but my favorite is family travel. Why? It's what I do myself. And I know how those vacations can sneak up on you and suddenly, there you are, with no plans and no flights or rooms. So you spend hours poring over Orbitz and Kayak, scrambling to put a last-minute trip together. And, a lot of times, you get something.

But what if you had a long-term vacation strategy, one that sees you not just planning your next trip, but laying out where you'd like to go with your kids over the next few years? With perhaps a few adults-only breaks as well?

That might mean beaches when they're little, rafting in Costa Rica when they're older. I can help you put together your own bucket list. So, when there's a special offer for the Galapagos, or a kids fly free to Vail, I can grab it for you.

I see those kinds of offers every day. That's because travel is my business. A flood of information crosses my desktop each day--and some of it is exactly the kind of travel that you want to do.

On top of all that information at my finger tips, I've also got 25 years of working in the travel industry to help you plan a wonderful vacation.

And, I’m backed by a multi-billion dollar entity. I am affiliated with a host agency called Nexion, which sells about $300 million worth of travel every year. It is owned by Tzell Travel, which sells more than a billion dollars worth of travel a year. And it is owned by Travel Leaders which owns still other retail travel entities. Tally it all up and I’ve got $15 billion of travel buying clout behind me.

Why do you care? Because in travel, relationships matter. I can use my own business connections as well as a $15-billion-travel-buying gorilla to make sure you get the biggest bang for your buck as well as swift troubleshooting when things go wrong.

Here’s how it works. Hotels, vacation packagers, even airlines like to work with people they know who deliver business to them. I’m part of a group that does exactly that. Because I’m part of an entity with a solid track record of delivering, I can get a variety of extras for you. That can include discounts at the front of the plane.

Besides that, if something goes wrong, not only do I know who to call, I've got favors and waivers I can cash in on for you.

I’m not promising you the cheapest deal--not at all. But what I’m offering is the best vacation for you.

I’ve don’t have all the answers. Far from it! The world is a big one and I don’t pretend to know it all. But, between my connections as a travel industry reporter as well as my colleagues at Nexion, Tzell, and Travel Leaders, I have a collective travel “brain” that does know the world.

Travel planning is a collaborative process. You come to me with an idea. It might be as concrete as a special offer on the internet or a magazine article. Perhaps it’s a trip a friend did. Or, it’s a vision in the back of your head of some magical place that is singing some siren song about dropping out and recharging. Then, we work together to make your vacation vision a reality.
