i grew up in a part of Wisconsin that has the modest beauty of Middle Earth and I go back there as often as I can.
I've been all over the world and my favorite spots on it are right back there, where I'm from.
But, at the same time, when I was growing up, that bucolic landscape could seem kind of quiet (although plenty happens there, let me tell you!). Somewhere, I thought back then, there was a place where the action never stops. And when I finally reached New York, I knew I'd found it.
